![]() ![]() ![]() It was an incredible entrance which shot energy through every single persons veins-starting the adrenaline rush that wouldn't cease for the rest of the night! The lights and music dimmed until all that you could hear was the screams of the many fans in the room until a red light appeared at the back of the stage illuminating the drums & piano before the backing track for Heavy Dirty Soul (which is also the first song on the Blurryface album) came on & Josh (The bands incredible drummer) got on stage and immediately captured the crowds attention with the incredible drumming in the song before Tyler appeared with a microphone and started rapping the lyrics.then as the song progressed the music died down and Tyler fell to the stages floor before getting up with the tambourine and finishing the song!!! ![]() ![]() Gwent has its roots in games like Goofspiel, being a simple game to learn but a complex one to master. ![]() ![]() That’s where Gwent, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s amazing minigame, comes in. You’ll find yourself spending a lot of time in the company of blacksmiths, so why not challenge a few to some cards? For a small fee, craftsmen can also take materials provided and upgrade Geralt’s current gear or craft entirely new items for him. Weapons and armor both degrade over time, and require repair in order to function properly. Signs, swordplay, bombs, potions and oils are Geralt’s main tools in combat, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s crafting ensures that you’ll be making the majority of them yourselves. It wasn’t too long ago that I had been fighting a griffin, after all. I realised that a similar technique could be applied to flying enemies, and cursed myself for having not thought of it earlier. From there, Geralt was able to execute the grounded fighters without a struggle. Experimentation is again, encouraged: I found that one of Geralt’s signs, minor spells that Witchers cast, was able to knock men from horses. My experience improved considerably from then on out.Ĭombat is both challenging and rewarding. After not being able to find a mouse sensitivity sweetspot, and after a lot of frustration in the inventory screen and during a certain minigame, I switched to my aging controller. Currently, pressing jump has Geralt finding the quickest way to haul himself hurtling in the opposite direction to where you needed him to go. Geralt’s also capable of running and jumping, but his jumps are in need of refinement. Turning him in a confined space is a nightmare. The best way to describe how he moves is that he is a vehicle, and one that lacks power steering. Geralt himself gets in on a little of the slapstick, though unintentionally. Roman Empire analogue Nilfgaard is on the brink of completing a crushing invasion of them, but begins the game in a temporary stalemate against the last two of these kingdoms, united under the banner of the stern king Radovid V. Geralt’s journey sees him make his way through three huge, distinct, and open areas of the Northern Kingdoms and their surrounds. Like a lot of things in life, this game is much more about the journey than the destination. ![]() For different reasons, both are being pursued by a terrifying supernatural force known as the Wild Hunt. The game’s prologue finds him in search of the two most important people in his life: his lover, Yennefer, and his adopted daughter, Ciri. Geralt is a Witcher, a spellsword trained and mutated from childhood to become a near-superhuman monster slayer. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a dark fantasy action RPG that concludes the saga of gruff, cat-eyed protagonist Geralt of Rivia. The innkeeper thanked Geralt for not making a bad situation worse. That was just a step along a minor quest, but the care that CD Projekt Red have put into their game shone through, as it absolutely sizzled with tension. He brought the three bandits a drink, exchanged some terse small talk and was then free to leave. This time, I had Geralt make a conscious choice. The prologue had already shown the brutal consequences of a tavern brawl - a beloved fantasy cliche. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt practically begged me not to in one early quest, because of the trouble it would bring down on the rest of the village as a result. The overwhelming bleakness of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had me caring for every ravaged Northern village I passed through, wrestling with how little I could do in absolute terms to improve the lives of these people. Not since Dragon Age: Origins was first released have I fallen so thoroughly into a game’s world. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have checked all the connectors and to see if it is sitting in the PCI-E slot correctley, which it is. The display port and the DVI-I slot work just fine at 144hz, yet the red light still comes on. Yet this only happens with the DVI-D slot. Also when I turn on the computer, the VGA LED on the mobo pops on for a second and turns off. Well when I plugged it in (using the DVI-D slot) and when I run it at 144hz I get a really awful screen flicker, almost as if the 3D settings are on but they are not. I'm also not for sure if its the card or something else. This one takes it in and sucks it through the card itself, which is completely enclosed in its plastic casing.Ĭons: - This isn't so much of a con with the card but an issue I have had. ![]() (This is on the division on ultra at 144hz.)- I'm really impressed with the design of the fan as well, most GPU's just blow air over the top of the card. Pros: - Card runs all my games at max graphics just fine and I haven't had any issues running the games The fans don't really turn on until the temperatures get pretty hot but with the Asus GUI that comes with the GPU, you can manually turn the fans on or up.- Under a load the card peaks out at about 80 degrees C. In my experience, this card delivers 80-90% of the performance of an ultra-high end card, and while you still have to shell out the money for it, it doesn't venture into "used car" territory, so to speak. Overall Review: Bottom line, you're looking at something in this price range probably because you're ready to step up into the higher end cards but you don't want to drop more than $400 and/or you don't feel that top-tier is necessary. I absolutely cannot dock this card at all for that. While doing this, I also happened to cut my finger, but that's user error, and really - this is an issue with the placement of my PCIE slot on my mobo and my case. It just barely wouldn't fit, and I could have possibly squeezed it in there, but I wasn't about to take any risks. Since I have a micro ATX mobo in a mid ATX case (Antec 600), I had to remove a plastic bracket from the inside of my case, above my hard drive bay - in order to fit the lengthy 970 inside my case. It really doesn't matter, but hey, I like them. This game ran at 720p at minimum settings at 10-25 fps.Ĭons: Doesn't come with any case badges/swag. This game used to run at about 20fps on medium settings on my old card.ĪRK: Survival Evolved on Epic + max tessellation, etc, crushing it with 30+ fps, which is amazing for this game, especially considering they recommend a Titan X for maximum settings. Nvidia DSR set to 2x (4k downscaled), and its still pushing more than 40fps consistently. Witcher 3 at maximum settings with hairworks on a 1080p monitor, locked at 60fps. Booted and ran smoothly with no driver installation (since it ran on my old drivers) but I updated the driver anyway, for good measure.īut the biggest thing is, it's a lot faster than I expected it to be. ![]() I had to make some minor adjustments due to some circumstantial hardware conflicts, I'll talk about that in the cons. ![]() I previously had a low profile EVGA GTX650Ti installed, which is about half the length of this GTX970.
